Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana Scheme | Government scheme for marriage in Karnataka
Rule 49: Assistance for the marriage-
1. The Secretary or any other authorized in this behalf by the Board, shall on an application from a registered construction worker, sanction a sum of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) as assistance to meet the marriage expenses of the worker or his/her two dependent children.
2. The amount shall be sanctioned only if the following conditions are fulfilled, namely:
- A minimum of one year shall have lapsed from the date of registered of the applicant to the date of marriage of the applicant’s son or daughter for whose marriage the assistance is sought.
- The family of a registered construction worker can avail this assistance only twice, However there shall be only one claim in respect of a given marriage irrespective of the number of registered construction workers in the family.
- The registered construction worker shall have no dues payable to the Board and
- The son or daughter of the registered construction worker, for whose marriage the assistance is sought, shall have attained the age prescribed by law for marriage.
- The certificate of registration of marriage obtain from the registrar of marriage shall be produced along with the application.
- Fifty percent of the amount shall be in the form of Fixed Deposit or Bond (Gruha Lakshmi Bond) for a minimum of three years in the name of the Bride and remaining fifty percent through RTGS in the name of the Beneficiary.
- The application for claiming the amount specified in sub-rule (1) shall be in Form XXIII.

- Marriage Invitation Card
- Affidavit if marriage is outside Karnataka state
- Ration Card
- Application submitted within 6 months of the marriage
- Application processing and Verification (if required) by Senior/ Labour Inspector
- Review and Approval by Labour Officer
Process for Karnataka Saptapadi Vivah Yojana Registration:
Saptapadi Mass Marriage scheme, eligible couples have to register first. Check all the important details related to registration process explained in this section-
- Applicants have to register in offline more as no online registration facility is not available as of now.
- For registration, applicants have to visit the selected Muzrai Temples where these marriages are performed.
- Applicants have to register themselves at the registration venue at least 30 days before the date of marriage.
- They have to provide all the required documents along with the registration form.
- Once the registration is over and details are verified, they are provided details of the marriage.
The benefit offered to couples as per this mass marriage scheme is distributed among bride and groom as- A Mangalsutra (8 grams) worth Rs.40000 for bride, Rs.10000 cash to bride and Rs.5000 cash to groom. this scheme is only for couple falling under Hindu religion. Approval of parents of both bride and groom for marrying under this scheme is must. These mass marriage ceremonies are conducted at selected temples (i.e. Muzrai temples) of Karnataka.
